The premise is simple, if a little strange. Who would win in a fight of one gorilla versus 100 men?
Many have speculated online that the primate could not be overpowered despite the massive number advantage of the human team.
But when the question was put to him the 38-year-old ex-England goalie disagreed.
In a video posted by BBC Match of the Day, he said: “100 men. Work together as a team, be aggressive, wear him down.

“Obviously I don’t want that to happen, animal rights and all that.
“I’m backing the men.”
He was then told that wasn’t the popular answer, to which he replied: “Why?
“It’s stronger than two or three men, a hundred?
“A hundred men who are game? It’s not even a contest.”
One Tottenham Hotspur fan, one of Hart’s old stomping grounds, commented ‘reason why he’s the best pundit’ while some compared his ‘animal rights’ line to the dry witticism of Alan Partridge and David Brent.

The debate raged on in the replies with some joining the former England and Manchester City hero’s side and others opposing him.
“Finally, common sense,” said one comment while another agreed: “Thank you Joe Hart. The disrespect of men on this question has been baffling.
“We literally built the world we live in today life is so good because of men and 100 of the most intelligent species ever seen on this planet can’t beat one ape? 100 men would defeat 5 gorillas.”
Hart was called a ‘smart bloke’ and ‘someone who speaks sense’.
But one argued: “It’s not no Joe, a gorilla would wipe out at minimum a good quarter with ease given the strength inequality then get to work on the other 75%.”
It’s not the first time the Englishman has caused disagreement in his time as a pundit on the popular BBC football show.
