All the parts of England set to sizzle in a 27C mini-heatwave have been revealed. New weather maps and charts show 27C highs in parts of the Midlands, North West of England and south.
WX Charts show a top temperature of 27C in Greater London at 6pm on Monday, May 19. It could also hit Greater Manchester, Oxfordshire, Nottinghamshire, Lancashire, Somerset and the West Midlands conurbation including Birmingham.
Netweather TV’s Ian Simpson said: “For the first half of May, the forecast is for yet more dry sunny weather for most of the country. It is set to be cooler during the rest of the Bank Holiday weekend, with a brief northerly blast on Sunday bringing some scattered light showers to eastern counties, and then cloudier weather for the east through Monday and Tuesday, but sheltered western counties will hold onto mainly dry sunny weather.

“A week ago, it looked likely that the high pressure would continue to move out to the west of Britain, resulting in increasingly wet and unsettled weather, but now this looks unlikely – medium range forecast models are now going for high pressure moving back eastwards again during next week.
“High pressure will often be centred over north-western Britain, meaning that eastern England will often be most prone to relatively cool and cloudy weather, while north-western Britain is forecast to be particularly sunny.
“It is quite common in spring and early summer for north-western Britain to be the driest and sunniest region of the UK, as this is the time of year when the prevailing westerlies are at their weakest and we often see a relatively high frequency of northerly and easterly winds.
“While sunshine amounts may vary regionally, it is looking likely that nearly all of us will have a very dry first half of May, though with temperatures generally closer to the long-term normal than we saw for much of April.”
This week, the BBC Weather teams says tonight (Monday May 5) will become a dry and calm night with clear skies for many. However, parts of east England will see areas of cloud build in, and far north-west Scotland will see more in the way of cloud.
It adds: “Dry tomorrow under the influence of high pressure overhead. Many will turn cloudier in the afternoon but will see some sunshine again later in the day. Sunnier in Wales and Scotland. Slightly warmer.”
The outlook for Wednesday to Friday says: “Later this week, high pressure will stay generally centred over the northern half of the UK and will bring a spell of dry weather across the country.
“Northern and eastern parts will see slightly more in the way of cloud at times, particularly on Wednesday and Thursday. Sunshine will still be prevalent for most however, and temperatures will also tend to rise quite widely.”
