A cyclist has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car along a busy road in East Bristol.

Two ambulances from South Western Ambulance Service were called to the crash between a car and an e-bike which took place at around 1.45pm today at the junction of Whitehall Road and Embassy Road.

There were queues in the area as a result of the crash close to the Bristol’s Mobility Centre store.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “We were called by the ambulance service at around 1.45pm today (Monday 5 May) to a collision in Whitehall Road, Bristol, between a car and an electric bike.

“One person has been taken to hospital, their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life changing.
