Dozens of cannabis plants have been seized following a raid in south Manchester. Greater Manchester Police says 150 plants were removed from a property on Golborne Avenue, in Withington, on Tuesday morning (February 17).
The raid, carried out by the City of Manchester South Neighbourhood Policing Team, followed intelligence passed onto GMP. No arrests have been made so far, but GMP says 150 cannabis plants were taken away for testing.

PC Sean McDonald, of GMP, said: “We received a number of community-fed intelligence reports over the last months, particularly involving drug supply and anti-social behaviour within south Manchester. These reports were investigated, leading to the authorisation and execution of a Misuse of Drugs Act Warrant in the early hours of [Tuesday] morning at an address in the Old Moat area.
“Whilst this has yet to lead to an arrest, it has resulted in the seizure of 150 cannabis plants, removing thousands of pounds worth of illicit material from hitting the streets and derailing future criminal endeavours for the cultivation and supply of drugs in the south of Manchester and further afield. This would not have been possible without the support of the community, helping us direct our efforts where needed most.
