The doors of a 173-year-old Salford factory which is home to a popular luxury brand will be open to the public for two days for a rare opportunity to hunt down some bargains.

Known for its coats, knitwear and jackets which are hand-cut, sewn and finished garments made entirely in their historic Greater Manchester factory, Private White V.C. has been worn by the likes of top names including David Beckham, Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy and Liam Gallagher over the years.

Overlooking the River Irwell, their 1853-founded Cottenham House factory – the last of the brand’s stand-alone clothing factories – is also home to over 25,000 patterns and 15,000 garments. Earning a big name for its quality, its products are made with regionally sourced materials and premium fabrics.

Given its name after Private Jack White, of the King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment, the factory is run by his family with great-grandson James Eden serving as CEO today. Their red-brick factory is also home to the brand’s flagship store, which operates on appointment only.

Private White V.C. has announced it will be hosting an end-of-season sample sale at its Salford factory which will give people the chance to save up to 70% off a range of coats, blazers, jackets, rainwear, cashmere knitwear, one-off samples and more.

The sample sale will run across two sessions taking place on Friday, February 27 from 9am to 6pm and on Saturday, February 28 from 9am to 1pm. It will be free to enter, but tickets will need to be secured ahead of time. The sale will operate on a first-come first-served basis.

A spokesperson for the company said of the event: “Renowned for its commitment to quality and craftsmanship, Private White V.C. designs garments are built to last a lifetime, making this sale a rare opportunity to invest in statement pieces at exceptional value.

“All items are available across a full range of sizes, strictly whilst stocks last, and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Requests and reservations cannot be taken over the phone.”
