Obi is the one
Chido Obi became Manchester United’s youngest Premier League starter at Brentford.
At 17 years and 156 days, he broke the record previously set by Mason Greenwood in May 2019.
Obi is 67 days younger than Greenwood was when he played in a 2-0 defeat to Cardiff City.
Amorim explained his decision to start the youngster and insisted that he does not want any pressure put on him.
He said: “I think we need to focus a lot on our young players. For me, it’s not a massive game for Chido.
“I know that it’s important for Chido, but I don’t want a lot of pressure on Chido, I just want him to do what he knows.
“He played really well in those minutes against Wolverhampton.
“He’s improving a lot, and then Newcastle, the rotation. I feel that he’s ready to cope with the demands of the Premier League.”
That’s Gunnar hurt
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed that only three of his former Manchester United players have spoken to him since his sacking.
The Red Devils icon took charge as manager in 2018, initially on a caretaker contract before he was given the job full-time then was sacked in November 2021.
He is now in charge at Besiktas – but opened up on some of his former players.
Solskjaer told BBC Sport: “For me, Harry [Maguire] has always been a leader and a fighter.
“I was never in doubt when I signed him and he walked in the door he would be captain for us.
“There is another captain there in Bruno [Fernandes]. The two of them are top human beings.
“I was so happy for them last night [Europa League semi-final first leg].
“Those two and Victor [Lindelof] are probably the only ones I have heard from in the club since I left.
“You want the best for them.”

A bit of interesting transfer news for you…
Manchester United are set to join transfer race for Bryan Mbeumo despite being on brink of a Matheus Cunha deal, according to reports.
Telegraph Sport report the 25-year-old Brentford forward is expected to be one of Ruben Amorim’s top targets.
Wolves man Cunha is another target but plays mainly through the middle while Mbeumo operates out wide more.
Mbeumo has scored 18 – three more than Cunha’s 15 – in the league this season and is rated at £60million.
The hefty price tag, alongside Cunha’s £62.5m release clause, could mean that United look to sell loanees Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony.
Mase was ace
United’s players were outclassed as they were beaten by Brentford.
Despite taking an early lead, a much-changed Red Devils team were overpowered by the London side.
Man United fielded a weak-looking side as manager Ruben Amorim rang the changes.
It was also the club’s youngest ever starting XI in the Premier League, including Chido Obi.
But it was not enough to deal with Brentford as they succumbed to a 4-3 defeat that was only made more palatable after late goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo.
