The Environment Agency said flooding is expected in Rushington and Eling, with impacts forecast for Ashurst Bridge, Rushington, Brokenford and Eling.

The warning comes after nearly 26mm of rain fell on Wednesday.

Flooding is expected from 1.30am on February 19, with Ashurst Bridge and properties along Woodlands Road likely to be affected.

However, impacts are not currently expected in the lower Bartley Water at Eling, Totton and Rumbridge.

Further showers are possible overnight, and river levels and flood risk are expected to remain high through Thursday.

The Environment Agency said it is continuing to monitor rainfall and river levels closely and urged residents to activate any flood protection products they may have in place.

The agency has said the warning will be updated by 6pm today.
