Sondre Langas and Max Johnston are not expected to return until after the next international break, Derby County head coach John Eustace has confirmed.

Langas has been out of action with a hamstring problem he picked up in the game against West Brom with Eustace confirming he has suffered “quite a big tear”.

Johnston is in the same boat after initially pulling his hamstring in the win over QPR earlier in the season and had been due to return in January.

However, he suffered a calf problem which has kept him on the sidelines for a longer period of time.

He too is not expected back until after the Championship pauses for the next set of international fixtures which takes place next month.

“Sonny’s still going to be three or four weeks away,” he said. “He had quite a big tear on his tendon.

“He’s making fantastic progress so I think it’ll be after the international break, unfortunately, when he’ll be back in with us.

“Max is probably very similar. Hopefully after the next international break, both of those players will be back in with the group.”

Johnston, Langas and Jacob Widell Zetterstrom are the only injury problems facing Derby this weekend ahead of the trip to Watford.

Carlton Morris did make his return to the fold last weekend albeit as a substitute following a long layoff because of an ankle injury.

Eustace confirmed the striker would be in contention to be part of the squad that travels to Vicarage Road where the Rams are looking to maintain their impressive away form.

Derby are currently sixth in the league table.
