Former Love Island host Laura Whitmore has announced she is pregnant with her second baby.

The 40-year-old TV presenter shared that she and husband Iain Stirling were expecting a second child with a light-hearted Instagram post revealing her baby bump.

The post’s caption read: “Instagram V Reality – Spoiler: It wasn’t just a big meal mama ate. She’s been cooking away! I’d like to thank stretchy pants and travel sick bags”. The couple have been spotted on the red carpet ahead of the announcement, but kept the bump hidden away.

Friends of the star commented on the post to share their best wishes, including comedian Katherine Ryan, who commented “Congrats congrats!!!!!”, and actor Emily Attack, who simply shared several smiling faces with loveheart emojis on the post.

Whitmore and Stirling — who provides the voiceover on ITV’s Love Island — married in 2020, and welcomed their first daughter, Steve Ré, in March 2021.

The couple reportedly first met in 2016 at an ITV party and publicly confirmed their relationship in August 2017. They moved in together in December 2018, and Whitmore became the host of Love Island for the 2020 series following the death of former host Caroline Flack. She hosted three seasons before leaving the show in 2022.

They announced their first pregnancy in December 2020, following their private Dublin wedding in November of that year. In April 2021, the couple welcomed their first child.

In 2023, Whitmore told Glamour that motherhood had made her a better person, saying: “The things I can get done before 9:00 AM are honestly incredible. I’m quite impressed with myself […] It’s made me value my time more.”

Laura Whitmore hosted three seasons of Love Island.

“I was 35 when I had her […] I definitely wasn’t ready when I was 25, but it is hard. But I’ve had so many voices in my head telling me I can’t do things. I mean, I think I’m the only person who slow-mo-walked into the Love Island while I was breastfeeding.”

Talking to the Radio Times in January 2023, Stirling said about fatherhood: “I love it. It’s given me such a nice purpose to my life. I enjoy being a dad, I enjoy watching this little person growing and learning how to say words and do actions. It’s really rewarding.”
