A fish and chip restaurant in Bristol has been impressing customers online, so much so, some have said it offers the “best” fish and chips “outside of Yorkshire”. Other diners have praised the eatery for its “excellent quality”, “relaxed atmosphere” and “friendly service”. The seafood diner getting plenty of praise on TripAdvisor is Noah’s, a family-run fish and chip restaurant and seafood kitchen. It is located under the flyover overlooking the Cumberland Basin.

Noah’s is also in the top five for Fish and Chip Restaurant of the Year at the National Fish and Chip Awards 2026. Winners will be announced in London next week. In 2024, it came in third place in the same category.

On its website, a statement reads: “Noah’s is a relaxed riverside restaurant that’s passionate about showcasing the best of British seafood. We celebrate incredible produce, cooked simply, with fish and chips, that most enduring of all the UK food institutions, at our heart.

“We’re serving up traditional cod and haddock in the lightest crispy batter, alongside the freshest seasonal catch from the South West’s renowned coastal markets and the icy shores of Scotland. Above all, we always let the fish do the talking.”

On TripAdvisor, Noah’s has an average customer score of 4.6 stars out of five. It also currently ranks as 83rd out of 1,633 restaurants in Bristol.

The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely gloriously tasty and plentiful with lots of choice too. Tuna Confit and Cod Croquette starters were mouth-tingly good. The Cod, Chips and Mushy Peas were the best i have ever had!”

Another diner said: “Best meal in ages. Fantastic!!! We had the sharing ray wing for two and it was spectacular. The service is fantastic and the atmosphere is the right level of relaxed. Another of us had the fish and chips, the batter is light and crispy. Been here before and will continue to recommend (and come!)”

Someone else said: “Amazing fish and chips, can absolutely understand why it’s voted one of the best in the county. Super fast, food all hot when it arrived, and very professional and friendly service. Recommend to everyone.”

Chris wrote: “A hidden gem with lovely food. There’s nothing quite like it anywhere near. Staff were really friendly and we will definitely be back. Well decorated too! Only thing I would say is perhaps a slightly better rum selection but that’s being nit picky.”

However, one customer said: “The haddock was dry and batter was soggy! The curry sauce was bland and tasteless!”
