Rail passengers have been warned by a train operator that they may not be able to travel as planned due to “more trains than usual needing repairs”.

Sunday’s services between Norwich and Cambridge via Brandon, external, Suffolk, have been affected and the disruption, with fewer trains running than expected, was due to continue until the end of the day.

A train was also cancelled between Lowestoft and Ipswich, although operator Greater Anglia has said the service on that line was returning to normal.

The disruption is in addition to planned bus replacements between Diss and Ipswich, as well as between Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds on Sunday while signalling work is carried out, external.
