Frank Lampard insists his Coventry City players have got to get on with the “rough” treatment that the Championship will throw at them in the final run-in for automatic promotion.
Saturday was a case in point when tricky winger Tatsuhiro Sakamoto appeared to be targeted for fouls – the Japanese winger clearly identified by West Bromwich Albion as a Sky Blues danger man following his outstanding showing against Middlesbrough.
Elsewhere, Ephron Mason-Clark had to go off after a heavy challenge 12 minutes from time and Haji Wright suffered a cut and was also withdrawn at The Hawthorns with just under 20 minutes remaining of the 2-0 win.

Asked how Mason-Clark was after the game, the City boss said: “Yeah, I think Ephron’s alright. Haji’s got a little cut in his leg.
“I thought there was some rough stuff on our front men that was not given. I thought we should have had a penalty on Jack Rudoni in the first half, and I’d like to watch it back. But yeah, they’re OK. We’ve got to take the rough stuff as well.”

Next up is a trip to Bramall Lane, which often poses a physical challenge against Sheffield United who will be without tough tackling midfielder Kalvin Phillips after being shown a red card for a horror challenge in Sunday’s Sheffield derby.
The on loan midfielder was tearful as he apologised to Blades’ supporters following a lunge on Wednesday’s Svante Ingelsson early in the second half.
He threw himself into a challenge and caught Ingelsson’s left knee with his studs. Referee Josh Smith had no hesitation as he sent him off. Phillips looked abashed as he raised his hands to the home stands.
