Former deputy chair of the University of the Arts London, BEN TERRETT, will head up the board of trustees at cultural and education charity, Art UK.
Terrett, who has held roles including as director of design at the Government Digital Service department, joins the organisation as it celebrates its 10th anniversary.
Appointed as a Commander of the British Empire last year for services to design, Terrett replaces interim chair TOM DAVIES.
The current chief executive and co-founder of digital consultancy Public Digital, he takes over late next month.
Davies said: “On behalf of the trustees, we’re delighted to announce Ben Terrett as the new chair of Art UK.
“Ben is one of the UK’s leaders in digital, and his experience as chief executive of Public Digital will be invaluable as we shape what comes next at Art UK. We are all excited to work with Ben as Art UK enters its next chapter.”
Terrett added: “Art UK represents a powerful combination of art, education and technology – three things that have shaped my career and interests for many years.
I’ve long believed that digital, at its best, is a force for good, and Art UK is a brilliant example of that in action. I’m honoured to take on the role of chair and look forward to working with the board and team to help the charity grow its impact, reach new audiences and continue opening up the UK’s public art collections to everyone.”
