A marginal increase (0.23%) in supermarket prices was recorded in April 2025 compared to April 2024, while, overall, the 12-month period (May 2024 – April 2025) recorded a decrease of -0.34%, the Research Institute of Retail Consumer Goods (IELKA) said on Monday.
Additionally, a decrease of 0.79% was registered in April compared to March 2025.
It is also noted that the prices of April 2025 compared to the previous month (March 2025) were down -0.79%.
The largest price decreases in the 12-month period were recorded in the categories of detergents and cleaning supplies (-9.43%), pet food (-5.98%), grocery food (-4.9%), fresh & frozen dough (-4.05%), stationery, and cosmetics & toiletries (-3.3%).
According to IELKA, the reductions recorded are the result of both the normalization of the market after the pandemic and the reduction in producer prices for certain products.
