Charles Kushner, the United States Ambassador to Paris, has been barred from meeting with French ministers and other officials.
Agence France-Presse reported on Tuesday, February 24, that Kushner did not show up at the foreign ministry when he was summoned.
According to the report, this action followed Kushner disregarding the summons after commenting on the killing of a far-right French activist.
The report states that Quentin Deranque, a far-right French activist, was beaten and killed during a clash with activists suspected of being far-left.
The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that it is not primarily a bilateral issue; it’s a question of the basic expectations attached to the mission of an ambassador.
The no-show was Kushner’s second since the billionaire real-estate magnate’s appointment to the Paris embassy last year.
