Ms Holden has warned fans about fraudsters impersonating her in an online scam after hearing from a Heart Breakfast listener who had been duped by someone pretending to be her.

Returning to the radio show on Monday (February 23), the presenter was contacted by a listener who explained he had once received a message he believed was from Amanda.

He began by praising the show and its hosts before recalling how he had been tricked.

“And yourself, Amanda, well, I believed you messaged me, but I think I got scammed by somebody in South Africa, so I’ve left it,” he told her.

Recognising the type of fraud he was talking about, the Britain’s Got Talent judge urged listeners not to be taken in by similar approaches.

“Yeah, no, I did a whole show on scammers and people trying to be me,” said Ms Holden.

“If anyone thinks they’re going to marry me or move in with me anytime soon, it’s rubbish, so stop paying people.”

The caller went on to say: “I did have a heart from someone but I don’t think it was you.”

Ms Holden replied: “No babes, sorry, I’m sending you one now, though that’s real. This is me, this is not AI.”

The 55-year-old has previously presented an episode of Scam Interceptors, after con artists used her name and image in attempts to swindle victims out of large sums of money.
