Dr Amir Khan turned to his supporters for comfort following what he branded a ‘horrendous’ mishap. The well-known NHS medic, who regularly features as an expert on TV, has built a devoted fanbase through his candid, lighthearted videos tackling important health matters.
He took to Instagram, where he boasts an impressive following of over 960,000, to share what he dubbed a ‘really awkward’ experience. He revealed: “Guys, literally the most embarrassing thing has just happened.
“I was staying at a hotel and I was in the lift from the lobby up to my room, um, and I was alone in the lift and I was listening to my headphones. I was listening to the Backstreet Boys, ‘I Want It That Way’, and I turned to the mirror and started miming and then slowly started dancing because I was alone and I thought I was going all the way to the sixth floor and I’d just get there.
“But it stopped around floor two and I didn’t realise the doors had opened and there was this family that came in halfway through my dance routine, miming, oh my God it was just horrendous and then I had to endure four floors up with them and it was really awkward.”

The confession sparked considerable hilarity amongst his legion of followers. “Och, just embrace it!” remarked one person, whilst another declared: “OMG I love you.”
“Just say, dancing is good for your health and get them to join in! Honestly you are sooo funny,” remarked another viewer, whilst someone else enthused: “Wish I’d been in the lift I’d have sang with you I love that song it’s one of my favourites!!”
