Armed officers stormed a Greater Manchester street in connection with a major investigation into firearms, it has been confirmed.
A huge police presence was pictured at the scene on Wastdale Road in Wythenshawe after a raid was carried out at a property at around 2.10pm. Three men have since been arrested.
Images and videos from the scene showed at least six police vehicles in attendance, along with Tactical Aid Unit officers and armed police. It was linked to an investigation being carried out by the force’s Serious Crime Division.

Police remained at the scene throughout the afternoon, with a house also cordoned off. Greater Manchester Police said the strike is linked to an investigation into firearm and drugs offences, with enquiries ongoing.

A force spokesperson said: “At around 2.10pm, officers carried out a strike at an address on Wastdale Road in Wythenshawe in relation to an ongoing investigation by our Serious Crime Division.
“Three men – aged 39, 32 and 29 – have been arrested on suspicion of firearm and drugs offences and remain in custody for questioning. Investigations are ongoing.”
