Sugo, a sister restaurant to Paesano pizza, first opened within the former Herald building on Mitchell Street in the city centre in 2019.
Known for its compact menu of 10 Italian-inspired pasta dishes and a strict walk-ins-only policy, the restaurant has enjoyed enduring success with queues often extending out the door at peak dining times.

The DRG Group completed what it described as its “most significant acquisition to date” by acquiring two Paesano restaurants, located in Glasgow’s city centre and west end, as well as the Sugo eatery in the city in June 2024.
This follows the opening of a third Paesano pizza site on Pollokshaws Road in the city’s Southside in May.
The DRG is Scotland’s largest independent restaurant group and also owns the Café Andaluz, Di Maggio’s and Amarone restaurant chains
