Armed police descended on a street after a man was reportedly “spotted with a knife”. The incident occurred on West Derby Road in Tuebrook at around 12.30pm on Thursday, February 26, when Merseyside Police received reports that a man, believed to be armed, had pushed a man riding his bike before leaving the area.

Merseyside Police said armed officers were sent to the area to search the surrounding streets, but no weapons have been recovered so far. Police confirmed an investigation into the incident is ongoing and urged anyone with information to come forward.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “At around 12.30pm this afternoon we received a report that a man who was believed to be holding a knife pushed a man riding a bike on West Derby Road.

“The offender then left the area. Armed patrols are searching the area. No weapons have been recovered and an investigation is ongoing.”
