A Leeds woman has been charged with child cruelty after the death of a girl.
Holly Walton, 16, died on Christmas Day in 2022 from a medical condition. Mandy Walton, 54, is due to appear Leeds Magistrates’ Court on March 6.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “A Leeds woman is due to appear before magistrates next month charged with offences of child neglect. Mandy Walton, 54 of Asquith Drive Morley, will appear before Leeds Magistrates’ Court on March 6 charged with child cruelty.
“The offending is reported to have taken place elsewhere in the Leeds area between December 2017 and June 2022. It relates to a girl who sadly later died from a medical condition in December 2022.”
