- Thomas Bangalter is set to appear as a surprise guest at Fred again..‘s headline show at London’s Alexandra Palace tonight.
The UK artist broke the news on Instagram Stories earlier today, February 27th, sharing a photo with Bangalter and describing the booking as a fitting way to cap off what he called a “surreal” run of dates. A follow-up clip showed the pair working in the studio on edits that blend Fred’s “Billie (Loving Arms)” with Daft Punk‘s “Digital Love.”
The performance will be only the second time the two have shared a bill. Last autumn, Bangalter returned to DJing after a long hiatus for a Paris event hosted by Because Music at the Centre Pompidou, joining Fred again.. alongside Busy P and Erol Alkan.
Tonight also marks Bangalter’s first UK set in more than 18 years. His last appearance came during Daft Punk’s 2007 Alive tour, when he and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo headlined Wireless Festival at Hyde Park.
