SP Energy Networks has shared a statement on its website

A power cut in Liverpool city centre is affecting businesses in a number of postcodes. SP Energy Networks, which operates the electricity transmission and distribution network across Merseyside amongst other areas, confirmed a power cut was affecting the L1 postcode of Liverpool.

The ECHO understands the power outage was reported shortly after 4pm today, Saturday. SP Energy Networks said the issue will last until just after 8pm.

A statement on the energy provider’s website said: “There is an unplanned power cut affecting the L1 postcode area of Liverpool. We have engineers on the way.

“Once they arrive, they will get straight to work on investigating the fault. We are aiming to have your power restored by 28/02/2026, 20:16. We are sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.”

There are currently 18 postcodes affected. These are:

L1 4NU

L1 4HY

L1 4AZ

L1 4AS

L1 4BH

L1 4BW

L1 4BS

L1 4DQ

L1 4BZ

L1 4AR

L11 1AA

L1 1DQ
