One person was taken to hospital after an “incident” in Carrickfergus on Saturday morning.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service attended the Minorca Drive area of the Co Antrim town at around 10.04 on Saturday, February 28.

Two emergency crews attended the scene, with the Air Ambulance also being tasked to the area. One person was taken by ambulance to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

A spokesperson for the NIAS said: “The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 10:04 on Saturday 28 February, following reports of an incident in the Minorca Drive area of Carrickfergus.

“NIAS despatched 2 Emergency Crews to the incident. Ambulance Control also tasked the Charity Air Ambulance, with HEMS crew on board, to attend.

“Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was taken, by ambulance, to RVH.”
