A West Midlands pub will be saved after the departure of chef Glynn Purnell.
The Mount, located in Henley-in-Arden, was to close on March 15, but has been brought back to life by owners of a nearby pub.
In a statement, a pub spokesperson listed “rising costs” which made the pub “no longer financially viable.”

A short drive away in Wootton Wawen, The Bulls Head confirmed to BirminghamLive that they will take on The Mount.
Owners Martin and Omm Peel further announced the change with a statement and called The Mount ‘the most amazing pub’ in Henley.

On social media, The Bulls Head posted: “You’re probably aware that The Mount will be closing their doors next month.
“In the heart of Henley’s High Street conservation area, The Mount has been beautifully restored & furnished, to the credit of the owners & their team.
“We think it’s the most amazing pub, restaurant & garden venue Henley has to offer.
“And so we’re delighted to announce that we’ll be reopening the doors of The Mount soon.

“Most importantly, The Bull’s Head is NOT closing any doors.
“We’re very much open as usual!
