Man Utd have identified Wolves forward Matheus Cunha as a prime target heading into the summer window.

Wolves forward Matheus Cunha has sent a message on social media amid interest from Manchester United.
United are reportedly eyeing up a move for Cunha ahead of the summer transfer window as they look to bolster Ruben Amorim’s attacking options. The Brazil star has been a standout performer for Wolves this season – netting 15 Premier League goals in 30 appearances so far in 2024/2025.
Even though he put pen-to-paper on a new contract at Molineux earlier this campaign, it is anticipated the 25-year-old could be on his way out at Molineux – with a hefty £62.5 million release clause included in his current agreement. The Manchester Evening News understands that Cunha is “optimistic” that a transfer to Old Trafford could happen this summer.
And their forward has now posted on his Instagram story as he looks to end the season strongly for Vitor Pereira’s side. Cunha posted a picture of himself with Wolves teammates, alongside the caption: “Joaooooo where are you?” in reference to midfielder João Gomes, who is absent from the team photo.
Earlier this season, Cunha spoke of his desire to challenge himself and making the next step in his career.
“I had a lot of offers, but I wouldn’t feel well if I had done it,” he told The Guardian in March.
“Some things you can’t control, but I couldn’t leave the club in the middle of the season – in a difficult situation – in the relegation zone.

“I’ve made it clear that I need to take the next step. I want to fight for titles, for big things. I have potential.”
United’s top-flight rivals Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest have also been linked with the versatile attacker, who has also made 13 appearances for the Brazil national team, scoring once.
