A third fire in a week has taken place at a popular Birmingham beauty spot with fears the latest blaze was started deliberately.

The fire took hold in Sutton Park in Sutton Coldfield tonight, Tuesday, May 6, by the model aircraft field.

Around an acre of ‘coarse ground’ was well alight with West Midlands Fire Service receiving several calls to the incident.

“They believe they started this fire but I cannot be sure.”
