The North Macedonian broadcaster has announced that MRT 1 will broadcast the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 live from Basel, Switzerland.
MRT 1 will broadcast the three live shows of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 to viewers in North Macedonia. Commentating on the show will be TV broadcaster Aleksandra Jovanovska. She is no stranger to the Eurovision Song Contest, Aleksandra has served various roles in the North Macedonian Eurovision delegation: as Head of Press on numerous occasions, On-Site Head of Delegation for Eurovision 2021 in Rotterdam and Assistant Head of Delegation for Eurovision 2019 in Tel Aviv.
She has also been involved in various local shows related to Eurovision, including the nation’s Eurovision national final in 2022, Za Evrosong 2022.
The following non-participating countries have confirmed broadcasts of Eurovision 2025:
- Faroe Islands – KvF
- Moldova – TRM
- North Macedonia – MRT
- United States – Peacock
North Macedonia withdrew from the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool, United Kingdom, with broadcaster MRT citing financial difficulties. Before this, the country had previously competed at every Eurovision since 2004.
The last time the country entered the contest was in 2022, Andrea represented the country in Turin, Italy with the song “Circles”. She was unable to qualify for that year’s Grand Final, though, finishing 11th in her semi-final with 76 points.

North Macedonia (previously competing as the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia) debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1998. However, two years earlier they attempted to participate but were knocked out in the pre-qualifying round. North Macedonia’s best result in the competition is a 7th place finish in the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest represented by Tamara Todevska and the song “Proud”.
