“They will cause a serious accident one day.”Edinburgh youths caught ‘swerving’ on dirt bikeson busy road
A group of Edinburgh youths were filmed swerving across lanes and holding up traffic on Calder Road near Wester Hailes on Tuesday afternoon. A concerned local filmed the four youngsters when they were caught behind the group at around 3pm on March 3.
The resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, told Edinburgh Live that they see the gang speeding up and down the road often and fear “they will cause a serious accident one day.”
In the video the four can be seen across both of the lanes, one of the riders at the front of the group can be seen doing a wheelie and swerving when they put the bike back down onto two wheels.
As the video goes on, the youths at the back of the group can be seen looking back onto the traffic. Two of the bikes appear to be motorbikes.
The local added: “I’m from the area and if they aren’t speeding up roads they are tearing around Sighthill Park.
“Today they were on Calder Road and refusing to move, swerving about not letting anyone overtake. They would speed up and slow down and show absolutely no respect to any other road users. I personally get incredibly anxious when I see these lads.
“I considered calling the police but don’t feel it merited a 999 and if I called 111 they would have been well gone.”
