A woman has been taken to hospital following an incident close to a railway line in Co Armagh.

Police received a request for assistance from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service in the William Street area of Lurgan on Thursday afternoon, March 5.

PSNI officers attended and one woman was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries.

The railway line was closed in both directions for a time to facilitate emergency services, leading to travel disruption for commuters.

A Translink spokesperson said at the time: “Due to an operating incident between #Lurgan and #Portadown the line is closed. Disruption is expected to services running through these stations until further notice.”

The railway line has since reopened.
