From 18-24 May 2026, the GB team will head off to Antalya for the 2026 European Championships.

Following a five year wait, the European Championships returns to Türkiye after been held in a series of different German cities.

The Great Britain team has had a bout of success at previous renditions of the Championships. One highly significant achievement is GB having defended the compound women’s title since 2022; it was won by Izzy Carpenter in Munich in 2022 and then retained by Ella Gibson in Essen in 2024. The team are vying to keep the gold medal within GB for a third time running! The selected compound athletes attending this event are the same two trios which formed the 2025 World Championship team.

The recurves have also had recent success at the Europeans, winning the mixed team silver in 2024, shot by Bryony Pitman and Conor Hall. This year’s team will showcase some fresh, debut talent, including 2025 Youth World champion Alex Sillitoe-Price, paired with our seasoned Olympians, Penny Healey and Megan Havers.

Archery GB Performance Director, Mark Beecher, said: “Podium performances at the Championships will give us quota places for the 2027 European Games, held in Istanbul, which in turn will provide our route to LA. The team selection is reflective of this target. It’s an exciting journey for those in the compound team to start their qualification journey towards the inaugural compound Olympic event.

“The recurve team is a mixture of experienced past Olympic talent and youth debut athletes hoping to make their mark. With only three athlete spaces available per category, versus the four allowed for World Cup level events, this has made for a highly competitive selection, so many congratulations to those who have been successful!”
