A man has been rushed to hospital following an early hours attack in Glasgow. Emergency crews raced to Quarrybrae Street in the city’s East End in the early hours of this morning (Saturday, March 7).

An alarm was raised following a report of a “serious assault”. A 29-year-old man has been blue-lighted to hospital for treatment – although his condition has not been confirmed.

Police locked down the street as they threw up a cordon around 1am. The force says their enquiries are ongoing.

One local resident told Glasgow Live that officers have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries following the incident. Images from the scene show a police van in attendance, with the street taped off by officers.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1am on Saturday, March 7, we received a report of the serious assault of a 29-year-old man on Quarrybrae Street, Glasgow.

“Emergency services attended and he was taken to hospital for treatment. Enquiries are ongoing.”
