Glentoran Women were once again represented on the international stage on Friday night as Kascie Weir and Mia Moore started for Northern Ireland in their FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 qualifying clash with Turkiye at Mourneview Park.

Nadene Caldwell and Aimee Kerr were also included in the Northern Ireland matchday squad.

Midfielder Moore marked her first senior international start with an outstanding performance, earning Player of the Match honours.

The Glentoran midfielder nearly capped a memorable evening with a goal early in the second half, bursting forward through midfield before seeing her effort deflected behind for a corner.

Despite a spirited performance from Kris Lindsay’s side, Northern Ireland were narrowly beaten 1–0, with Ece Turkoglu’s first-half strike proving decisive for the visitors in Lurgan.

Northern Ireland will now turn their attention to a double-header against Malta next month as their World Cup qualifying campaign continues.
