Passengers have been advised to check before travelling.

In an update on Sunday evening, Stena Line said its ferry Stena Adventurer had “developed a technical issue which needs to be resolved before the ship can leave Holyhead Port”.

It said a team were “working hard to resolve this issue as soon as possible”.

“As a result, the Stena Line 10:15 sailing from Dublin-Holyhead has been re-directed to Birkenhead and our team is on hand to support passengers, including the provision of coach travel back to Holyhead for foot passengers”.

“Our team is contacting affected customers directly with updates, changes and alternative travel options,” it added.
