Another show has been moved from the Peacock Theatre in the West End due to ongoing building works.
English National Ballet’s scheduled return to London of My First Ballet: Cinderella has been cancelled at the Peacock Theatre. The show was originally running from 2 to 11 April 2026.
Instead, the ballet is moving to Sadler’s Wells East, playing there from 1 April to 12 April 2026. Any existing ticket holders for the Peacock run will be notified by their point of purchase.
The Peacock Theatre is managed by dance organisation Sadler’s Wells, and owned by the London School of Economics.
At the beginning of February, Sadler’s Wells put out a statement saying, “Regrettably, Sadler’s Wells has been notified by our landlord, the LSE, that the Peacock Theatre must close temporarily for unexpected essential building works.”
That initial disruption affected TUTU Chicos Mambo, which was also moved to Sadler’s Wells East – its brand new venue in Stratford, London.
The next production, The Opera Locos, was also relocated, this time to Sadler’s Wells’ main theatre in Islington.
The biggest disruption so far has been for the forthcoming world premiere production of I’m Every Woman – The Chaka Khan Musical starring Alexandra Burke.
The sold-out show was scheduled to open at the Peacock Theatre on 5 March, and play until 28 March. However, the new musical has now had to move to the Hackney Empire, for a reduced number of performances from 21 to 25 March 2026.
The producer of the show, Adrian Grant, said they were informed about the Peacock Theatre closure, “just several days before our sold-out engagement of I’m Every Woman”.
Next up at the Peacock Theatre is Germán Cornejo’s Tango After Dark from 14 to 18 April 2026.
