A Southampton woman is tackling a half marathon to raise awareness of chronic pain.
25-year-old Sophie is set to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon on Sunday, April 12.
Since its inaugural run in 2018, the London Landmarks Half Marathon has grown rapidly into one of London’s most beloved springtime events.

Sophie is running the half marathon with added complications due to living with fibromyalgia, a lifelong condition causing chronic pain and unpredictable flare-ups.

In preparation for the run, Sophie has been utilising an 18-week “fibro-friendly” training plan for the 13.1-mile challenge, a gentle and flexible approach designed to work with her body rather than against it.
She is running alongside her husband, who acts as her support runner and pacing partner.
