Police have issued a statement after a van smashed into a salon front in Stockport with the owner left ‘devastated’ by the incident. Emergency crews attended the major collision on Reddish Road at around 9pm on Sunday (March 8).
Pictures and videos posted on social media showed how the white transit van had struck the front of the Styled by Melissa business, crossing the pavement and completely smashing through the front.
Multiple police vehicles could be seen in attendance, taping off the area outside the business, with crews from the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service also at the scene.

In an Instagram story, the Styled by Melissa venue posted: “As most of you may know a van unfortunately crashed right into the shop front last night. Obviously this is devastating at this moment in time.

“The space is obviously unworkable at the moment but we will be working hard to get it back up and running as soon as we can. Thank you so much for your patience.”
Greater Manchester Police said investigations into the collision remain ongoing and that nobody was injured. A spokesperson said: “At around 8.55pm we were called to an RTC on Reddish Road in Stockport. No injuries have been reported, and no arrests have been made at this stage. Investigations are ongoing.”

A spokesperson for the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “Shortly after 9.05pm on Sunday 8 March, three fire engines from Gorton, Whitehill and Stockport fire stations were called to attend a road traffic collision involving a van and a commercial building on Reddish Road, Stockport.
“Crews arrived quickly, made the vehicle safe and supported colleagues from Greater Manchester Police before departing after approximately half an hour at the scene.”
Other videos on social media showed how Reddish Road was completely blocked with emergency vehicles following the crash, including multiple police cars, an ambulance and fire engines as the damage was assessed.
