Derek McInnes says Lawrence Shankland and Cammy Devlin could both return for Hearts’ next run-out at Tynecastle as his injury woes start to ease.
Skipper Shankland has not played since a January 17 Scottish Cup defeat to Falkirk due to a hamstring issue but is expected to be back in training at the start of next week.
Influential midfielder Devlin is also in line to rejoin his team-mates on the grass this week but Saturday’s televised showdown at Kilmarnock is set to come too soon for the Australian.
Devlin has been out with an ankle knock since a league win over St Mirren on January 14.
Dundee head to Gorgie a week on Saturday and boss McInnes said: “The likelihood for Cammy and Lawrence is that both will be fit for Dundee.
“Lawrence has been really good so, as it stands, we think both of them will be ready for the Dundee game.
“Cammy had a good day on Monday and we’re hoping to get him back doing some work with the rest of the squad before the weekend. He has taken a good step forward over the last few days.
“Lawrence and I initially thought he could potentially be back for Livingston (on April 5) but he’s managed to do everything on point.”
One player who could be fit for the trip to Rugby Park is Oisin McEntee, having recovered from a shoulder injury that forced him off in last month’s defeat at Ibrox.
Defender Stephen Kingsley is also making progress from a calf complaint, which has ruled him out since the December 27 derby defeat for Hearts.
McInnes added: “Oisin trained fully on Monday, back to contact and no issues. He trained as if he had never been away
“Kingsley is working away great and could possibly be fit for Dundee.”
