A ‘failed tram’ is causing issues on the network

No trams are running in Salford following an incident involving a ‘failed tram’. Metrolink services have been suspended between Eccles and Pomona this morning (March 11).
Transport for Greater Manchester says it follows an issue at Anchorage, near Salford Quays. Ten tram stops are out of service as a result.

No trams are calling at Eccles, Ladywell, Weaste, Langworthy, Broadway, MediaCityUK, Harbour City, Anchorage, Salford Quays or Exchange Quay. Trams on the Ashton line are terminating at Deansgate Castlefield.
Services are running as normal on the Trafford Centre line, via Pomona. Metrolink tickets are being accepted on several Bee Network bus services while the issue persists.
A Bee Network spokesperson wrote on X: “Due to a tram fault there is currently no service between Pomona and and Eccles. Metrolink ticket acceptance on bus services: 10, 33, 50, 52, 53, 67, 79, 100, 248 and 249.
“Passengers for Media City can use the Trafford Park line and cross from Imperial War Museum.” An update on the TfGM website added: “We are sorry for the inconvenience to your journey.”
