Two men have been taken to hospital after being attacked in Bristol.

Emergency services were called to Southville, near St Paul’s Church, after a man had reportedly been injured during an assault on Tuesday, May 6.

Avon and Somerset Police were called at around 10.24pm by the South Western Ambulance Service.

A second man, also believed to have been injured in the assault, was found nearby a short while later.

Both men were taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

A cordon is in place at the scene in Commercial Road and St Paul’s Church this afternoon (May 7).

Avon and Somerset Police said officers have been carrying out house-to-house, searches and forensic enquiries at the scene.

Anyone who saw what happened is asked to get in contact with the force.

A police spokesperson said: “We were called by the ambulance service at 10.24pm yesterday (6 May) reporting a man had been injured after an assault in the Southville area of Bristol.

“A short while later a second man, who was believed to have also been injured in the incident, was located nearby.

“Both victims were taken to hospital for treatment of injuries that are neither believed to be life-threatening nor life changing.

“Officers have been conducting CCTV, house-to-house, searches and forensic enquiries today (7 May) and a scene is in place at St Paul’s Church in Coronation Road as part of this work.

“Anyone with any information that could help our investigation is urged to call 101 and use the reference number 5225126903.”
