A motorcyclist has died following a serious three-vehicle crash near Bristol earlier this afternoon (May 7).
Avon and Somerset Police were called at approximately 1pm to the A46 in Old Sodbury, South Gloucestershire, to reports of a collision involving three vehicles.
The road was closed as officers and paramedics attended, and provided immediate medical attention to a biker involved in the crash. Sadly, despite their best efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man’s next of kin has been informed, and are being offered support by a specialist family liaison officer. The road remains closed between New Tyning Lane and The Cross Hands while police enquiries continue.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for witnesses and for dashcam footage following a fatal collision in South Gloucestershire today (Wednesday 7 May).
“If you were in the area and witnessed the collision and have not yet spoken to police, or have relevant footage which could aid our investigation, we want to hear from you. Call us on 101 and quote reference 5225127458 to the call handler.”
