Police discovered a number of counterfeit goods after raiding two off-licences. Yesterday (Friday, March 13), South Liverpool Neighbourhood Policing Team joined forces with Trading Standards for a targeted operation in Woolton Village and along Allerton Road.

Police said the operation was to target counterfeit goods. Officers first visited Woolton Convenience Store on Woolton Road where an employee tried to hide his car key behind bags of crisps inside the shop. After searching his car, officers uncovered counterfeit cigarettes concealed in the boot.

Goods were seized and enquiries are ongoing. Officers then visited Rose Lane Mart on Rose Lane, off Allerton Road in Mossley Hill. Inside, they seized counterfeit Labubu items and fake Stitch keyrings. These items pose significant safety risks, including choking hazards and toxic materials.

Merseyside Police said the joint operation highlights the force’s continued commitment to working with partners to keep south Liverpool safe, support local businesses and disrupt criminal activity.

If you have concerns about illicit goods being sold in your area, you can report it via CrimeStoppers or the Merseyside Police website.
