Newsboy fancies his nap, Kento, to win at Wolverhampton and also hopes El Rojo Grande can score at Ffos Las and complete his Daily Double

THE consistent KENTO (8.00, Nap) is fancied to follow up his recent course-and-distance success by landing the Join The Midnite Movement Classified Stakes at Wolverhampton on Monday evening. The son of Kuroshiuo, trained by Tony Carroll, made all last time under Rossa Ryan.
Always going well, he was pushed along over a furlong out before winning a shade cosily in beating Henery Hawk by three-quarters of a length, and there is likely to be more untapped potential to come. Previously, my selection was runner-up at Lingfield when headed late on by An Laochmor and was also second over Monday’s course and distance early last month to My Genghis. Billy Loughnane takes over the reins for this race and he should be there or thereabouts.

EL ROJO GRANDE (3.00, nb) is in a rich vein of form having not finished out of the first two in his last five races. The Katy Price-trained nine-year-old was beaten by just a head on his latest start over two miles at Ffos Las when bidding to complete a four-timer, but can return to the winners’ enclosure at the Welsh course on Monday afternoon. My selection has finished his races well over two miles so should be suited by going up in trip to 2m3f for the Good Luck Barry Murphy Handicap Chase under Shane Quinlan.
