Coronation Street viewers will be left worried for Todd Grimshaw next week as Theo Silverton devises another sinister scheme targeting his partner.
Fans will remember that Theo has been controlling Todd Grimshaw for weeks in a disturbing domestic abuse storyline. In recent episodes, matters took an even darker twist when Theo brandished a knife at Todd after being unable to settle the bill for his extravagant birthday dinner.
After the alarming scenes, Theo ended things with Todd in yet another calculated move, telling him he wasn’t content and that Todd wasn’t either. In forthcoming scenes this week, as both characters attempt to progress with new dates, Theo discovers James Bailey offering Todd a pre-marathon motivational chat.
Subsequently, whilst Todd answers a call, Theo secretly slips some drugs into Todd’s beverage, with spoilers next week disclosing the consequences. It emerges that Theo has intentionally undermined Todd’s marathon preparation, as he takes pleasure in informing Todd’s friends that he attempted knocking on Todd’s door but he must have departed already.

Meanwhile, Todd awakens feeling drowsy and disoriented, where he is devastated to discover he has missed the marathon. As Theo returns to the street wearing his medal, a mortified Todd conceals himself from his friends.
Subsequently, Theo convinces Todd to allow him inside, where Todd becomes emotional and expresses how he has disappointed everyone. A satisfied Theo embraces Todd tightly, acknowledging his scheme has succeeded.
The following day, George Shuttleworth finds himself worried about his former stepson Todd as he carefully suggests that Theo isn’t right for him, leaving Todd taking offence.
Later on, over lunch, Theo reassures George and Christina Boyd that he’s turned over a new leaf and Todd’s wellbeing is his main concern. George appears satisfied but when Theo departs, he abandons the pretence and tells Christina that they must keep him onside.

As the week unfolds, Theo tries to rebuild his relationship with Todd, confiding his scheme to Gary Windass. On Wednesday, Theo tells Todd that he has a surprise arranged for him.
Arriving at the undertakers dressed smartly, Theo guides a blindfolded Todd into the register office where Gary and Maria are waiting. Presenting two wedding rings, Theo reveals to Todd that they never called off their wedding so can still proceed… what will Todd do?
The following day, it’s disclosed that Todd has got a thumping headache following the previous day’s events. Meanwhile, Theo’s disappointed and heads out for a jog.
Whilst Theo is out, George drops by for a brew, where Theo comes back and, believing that Todd is in the bathroom, yells abusive comments through the door.
However, when Todd arrives home with some teabags and George comes out from the bathroom, Theo is silently mortified. How will George respond and will he succeed in freeing Todd?
