Coronation Street spoilers follow for the latest episode to air on ITV1 and stream on ITVX.
Coronation Street has laid the foundation for next week’s flashback episode, which will explore the secret history of Detective Kit Green.
Things kicked off when Lisa Swain told Kit that someone had been brought in on suspicion of assault and she’d like Kit to interview the suspect. His eyes widened as soon as she mentioned the suspect’s name: Mark ‘Mick’ Michaelis.
As soon as Kit entered the interview room, it was obvious he was visibly flustered, much to Mick’s amusement.
It turned out the troublemaker really didn’t have anything to worry about, as Kit barely questioned him and let him go without charge. His fellow police interviewer asked him why didn’t bring up any witness statement, but was quickly shot down.
Outside the station, Mick pulled Kit aside and menacingly told him: “We need to have a chat.”

Mick told him they used to be mates but Kit’s a changed man now, stating: “I heard you’ve become a copper. I thought, ‘No way he’d ever do that’. Just goes to show how wrong you can be about a person. Not for the first time.”
Lisa later cornered Kit in the Bistro and asked what happened, and Kit cited the lack of reliable evidence. She made a comment about how Mick is the type of guy who will soon end up back in prison and she hoped she’d be there when he does.
When Kit’s love interest Sarah Platt quizzed him about what Lisa was having a go at him about, Kit said the interview suspect only reminded of someone he used to know that used be a lot of trouble.

As Kit left the Bistro, Mick appeared once again and let the detective know he’s moved in round the corner with Lou. He asked if Kit remembers her too.
Mick guessed that Kit must live locally and declared, with a sinister smile, that people’s pasts always come back to haunt them.
If you want to know more about next week’s scenes, Kit actor Jacob Roberts has shared some further teases about what we can expect.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
