An urgent search has been launched to find a missing 12-year-old girl who has not been seen for more than 24 hours.

Poppy, whose surname was not disclosed by police, was last seen on Roman Road in Oldham at around 3pm on Tuesday (May 6). She is from the Oldham area but is known to visit Manchester city centre and particularly Piccadilly Gardens.

Police said the youth was described as being 4ft 5ins tall, of a skinny build and with long dark brown hair. She was last seen wearing a long-sleeve Montirex top which was purple and pink striped, grey Nike leggings, black and white Nike trainers and fluffy socks.

A picture of Poppy was shared by Greater Manchester Police who are now appealing for anyone with information to report it immediately.

A post shared by the force read: “Can you help us a missing girl from Oldham? Poppy (12) was last seen on Roman Road, Oldham 3pm Tuesday 6 May 2025.

“We are becoming increasingly concerned about Poppy, and we would like to locate her to ensure she is found safe and well.

“Anyone with information on her whereabouts should contact police on 101 quoting 2001 of 6/5/2025.”
