CHRIS DOBEY admits Brexit travel chaos is leaving darts stars considering skipping European Tour events.

Top names have voiced their frustration after nightmare journeys to this weekend’s Belgian Darts Open.

British players have been unable to use EU passport e-gates and instead face long queues for manual checks.

Dobey revealed he was left waiting more than two-and-a-half hours at border control before playing in Wieze.

He said: “It is frustrating because you want to come here and be prepared well.

“It’s just how things go. We shouldn’t have left the EU, I think that is the big problem. It is the same for most of the British lads.

“It is not nice because it was over two and a half hours we had to wait for the passport.

“It was the same in Poland a few weeks back so fingers crossed something can change and we can enjoy these European Tours.”

The delays have even left Dobey questioning whether to play every event on the calendar.

He added: “It is still early doors so you want to do as many as possible.

“Easter weekend in Munich that is probably going to be the same so I don’t know, it’s tempting to see whether or not I do that one.

“I want to play in them all. You love playing on the European Tour. It’s where the big money is on the rankings as well so you don’t want to miss them.

“Hopefully I can get sorted and start enjoying it.”

‘Hollywood’ was clinical on his doubles, converting six of 12 attempts to beat Dave Chisnall 6-3 and book his place in the third round of the European Tour event.

The Bedlington thrower will face either Josh Rock or Kim Huybrechts on Sunday afternoon for a spot in the quarter-finals.
