The girlfriend of a devoted dad-of-two who was tragically killed in a collision in Birmingham has paid tribute saying “he put everyone first.”

Lee Bowden died after his car went into a tree on Ridgacre Road in Quinton, around 12.15am on Saturday (March 21), leaving his family and friends devastated.

His loving girlfriend Amelia Brookes was travelling with him and was injured but later discharged from hospital.

Today, Amelia, 18, paid heartfelt tribute to Lee, who was 27 and said to live in Bilston.

She said: “He was the love of my life and made me and everyone in his life so happy.

“He always put everyone else first and anyone that knew him would agree his heart was so pure.”

Heartbroken mourners gathered at at the tree to lay flowers and remember Lee.

One bouquet had a card attached from his two daughters which read “I love you so much daddy. Love, your beautiful girls, Ella and Millie.”

His friend Gabby Marks, 24, from Shard End, said: “He was very loving towards his kids, he always put them first.

“He was there to lean on when you were upset.

“He was an outgoing person and he loved his girlfriend Amelia.”

Meanwhile, West Midlands Police are appealing to anyone with footage of the incident to contact them.

The force said: “We’re carrying out enquiries to establish exactly what happened and we’d ask anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage to contact us.
