Greater Manchester basked in stunning sunshine with temperatures well above average last week. But conditions are set to be cooler this week – with the chance of snow hitting the region, according to the latest Met Office maps.
Temperatures will be above average for the time of year for the beginning of the week, with highs of 14C today (March 23) and 13C tomorrow. A dry, cloudy day is expected today, before mild overnight lows of 8C.
Tuesday is forecast to begin with light rain, turning heavy by lunchtime and continuing throughout the day. Temperatures will be cooler on Tuesday night, with lows of 1C in the region.

Wintry conditions are currently forecast to hit Greater Manchester from late Tuesday night and throughout Wednesday. Met Office maps show some flurries of snow on higher ground to the east of the region from around 10pm, while heavy rain continues to fall.

Those conditions are expected to continue in more areas of Greater Manchester from around 1am, possibly falling as sleet as spells of rain continue across the region. By 4am, snow is expected to be thicker and more consistent, landing in parts of Bury, Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside boroughs.
Further flurries could return at 7am, around Bolton, Bury and Rochdale, moving further south to hit other parts of the region including Manchester, Salford, Trafford and Stockport. Flurries of sleet and snow are expected continue hitting Greater Manchester throughout Wednesday, the maps show.

The Met Office expects showers and sunny intervals in Greater Manchester throughout that day, with wintry conditions most likely in the morning. The region could see highs of 8C, before overnight lows plunge to below zero in some areas.
A dry, mostly sunny day is expected to follow on Thursday, with highs of 8C. Early forecasts suggest the weekend will be mild and mostly cloudy, with highs of 10C on Friday and Saturday, and 13C on Sunday.
