Both RSF and its US-based affiliate, Reporters Without Borders, Inc., have joined this lawsuit alongside co-plaintiffs PEN America Center, Inc., and Government Accountability Project. The four individual plaintiffs are Barry Newhouse, until recently the Acting Director of the VOA Central News Division; Ayesha Tanzeem, Director of VOA’s South & Central Asia Division; Dong Hyuk Lee, Chief of VOA’s Korean Service; and Ksenia Turkova, a VOA journalist.

A federal court has already ruled that VOA journalists should return to work and that broadcasting should resume, though the government has appealed that decision.
